I spent most of my day today at a meet-up for SEO professionals. It was an excellent meeting where we discussed best practise for search engine optimisation, new techniques and ideas and also looked at the best ways to manage and grow your business online.
One of the key topics was a discussion on a website creation strategy. It was almost unanimously agreed that the best approach is to get a simple website launched immediately, and then improve and adapt and optimise this over time. The opposite approach, and one that was not recommended, was to spend a huge amount of time and money (sometimes many thousands of pounds and months or years) getting it all 100% correct and complete before it is published. It sounds like the right thing to do but trust me – it is wrong!
Please listen to my Audioboo post (above) for more information on this topic, and please comment with your thoughts and ideas on this subject as it would be good to see what other website owners think.
